Years ago, when Aiden was diagnosed, I had been forewarned that he had many of the “red flags” of Autism. I prepared myself emotionally, to take it and just fight like heck for my child. When the psychologist arrived at my home, I had already accepted the diagnosis, or so I thought.
When the time came to potty train my little man, I was sure that I was ready. I had already potty trained my oldest, in three days. Of course I could handle doing it with my special needs child! That’s a BIG NOPE!
By the third time going through the drive-thru, the employees were looking at me like I was some sort of nut-job (hahaha). I guess the mom bun, no makeup and look of sheer exhaustion on my face was an indicator that they shouldn’t say anything.
